Hello-

I was wondering if I could get some advice on the likeliness of my acceptence into an ivy league school and what I can do during my transitional year to increase those chances. I have an unweighted class rank of 20/314, weighted class rank of 21/314, weighted GPA of 5.4, unweight GPA of 4.9. I graduated at 16 years old, which seems impressive to my family, but probably not in the larger pool of college applicants. I graduated with the class of 2008, but I opted to not apply to colleges this past fall in order to take a year off. I will be applying the Fall of ‘08, and I’ve got some time to find some extra curricular activities that could help outweigh any academic mishaps. I was a member of National Honor Society, Newspaper, Key Club, Students for a Better World, Mu Alpha Theta, Interact, French Honor Society, and Future Physicians of America, and I took leader roles as secretary and treasurer for FPA and treasurer for Key Club. I was a state qualifier for Review Writing. I was named an Illinois State Scholar. I took honor courses all four years, but only one AP Course, Lit, and I have not received my AP Test score yet. I have a become an avid traveler, causing me to miss quite a bit of school over the years, and I have visited 5 continents. I would like to double major in Biology and Journalism to become a science writer or medical correspondent.

I would appreciate any advice you may have.

I’m currently in my second year of my Bachelor’s degree in International development and globalization (in french) at Ottawa University in Canada. What are my chances of being accepted into and Ivy league school after my degree, even with top grades? Also, what are my options concerning financial support as an international student?
